چکیده

بخش گردشگری یکی از بخش‌های بزرگ و در حال رشد سریع‌ در جهان است. با توجه به اهمیت صنعت گردشگری، بررسی عواملی که گردشگری ورودی را به خود جلب می‌کند، همواره مورد توجه محققان بوده است. در این زمینه، بررسی نقش آزادی اقتصادی در توسعه بخش گردشگری از اهمیت حیاتی در ادبیات برخوردار است. بر این اساس، این پژوهش به دنبال بررسی اثر آزادی اقتصادی بر توسعه گردشگری در کشورهای منتخب عضو سازمان کنفرانس اسلامی (OIC) طی دوره زمانی 2020-2006 با استفاده از روش خود توضیح برداری تابلویی بوده است. نتایج نشان می‌دهد که اثر آزادی اقتصادی بر توسعه گردشگری، مثبت و معنی‌دار است. از این رو سیاست‌گذاران باید افزایش آزادی اقتصادی را به عنوان وسیله‌ای برای تقویت صنعت گردشگری (افزایش ورود گردشگران بین‌المللی) در اولویت قرار دهند.

چکیده [English]

The tourism sector is one of the largest and fastest-growing industries globally. Given the significance of the tourism industry, exploring the factors that attract inbound tourism has consistently intrigued researchers. In this context, examining the role of economic freedom in the development of the tourism sector is crucial in the literature. Accordingly, this study aimed to analyze the impact of economic freedom on tourism development in selected member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) during the period from 2006 to 2020, utilizing the Panel Vector Auto Regression (PVAR) approach. The results indicate that the influence of economic freedom on tourism development is both positive and significant. Therefore, policymakers should prioritize enhancing economic freedom as a strategy to bolster the tourism industry by increasing the inflow of international tourists
